Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
OpenPlay is an app for organizing amateur sports games (football, basketball, tennis, padel). This policy explains what information we collect, why, who it is shared with, and what your rights are. Using the app constitutes consent to this policy.
Who is responsible for the data
Service owner and database controller: Gal. Contact: galyamin57@gmail.com.
What information is collected
- From your Google or Facebook account: name, email address and profile picture, when you sign in. We never access your friends, posts or anything else in the account.
- What you filled in: display name, city, sports and level, favorite team and player, phone (optional) and a profile picture you uploaded.
- Activity: groups, game sign-ups and cancellations, attendance confirmations, attendance, duty rotations, payment marking (by the organizer), friends and friend requests.
- Post-game ratings: stars, MVP vote and "clown" vote (if the group has enabled it).
- Notifications: if you allowed notifications, a technical browser/device identifier is stored for sending them.
- Search by phone and contacts: when you search for a friend by number or pick contacts, the numbers are sent to the server only to match them with existing players, and are not stored.
- Location: only when you explicitly ask for it, in two cases: checking in at the court (the distance from the court and the time are stored, not the coordinates) and marking the location of a new court (the court's location is stored, not yours). The app does not track your location in the background.
- Mini-game results: who played, who scored and who won, as recorded by the players or the organizer.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking. Minimal technical information is stored in the browser (sign-in and display preferences).
How we use the information
To manage games, sign-ups and the waitlist, send notifications (registration opening, moving up from the bench, attendance confirmation, teams, duty rotations, payment, friends), show game history, balance teams, provide security and prevent abuse, and improve the service. We do not sell information and do not share it for advertising purposes.
Who sees what
- Other players see your name, picture, city, favorite team and player, which games you played together, and goals and wins in mini-games. A game page is open to anyone with the link, including the list of sign-ups (name and picture). Games of a closed group do not appear on the home page or in search.
- Your phone number is visible only to you and to the organizers of your groups.
- The reliability score is visible only to you.
- A group's invite code is visible only to its members.
- Anonymous ratings: no one, including the organizer, sees who rated whom. Only the winners (MVP/clown) are shown. The average rating is used for team balancing only.
- Payment marking is visible only to organizers.
Service providers
The information is stored and processed by infrastructure providers acting on our behalf: Supabase (database, servers in Europe), Vercel (hosting), Google and Meta (sign-in) and browser push notification services (Apple, Google, Mozilla). Placeholder pictures of demo players are served from an external image service.
Retention and deletion
Information is kept as long as the account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all its information by email, and we will handle the request within 30 days. Information that must be retained by law will be kept only for the required period.
Your rights
Under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, you may review the information about you, request correction of inaccurate or outdated information, and request its deletion. Some details you can edit yourself on the profile screen. For any other request: galyamin57@gmail.com.
Security
Access to information is restricted by database-level permissions, communication is encrypted (HTTPS), and sensitive operations are performed on the server side only. No system is completely immune, and if we discover a breach of your information we will notify you as required by law.
Minors
The service is intended for ages 16 and up. If we learn that an account was opened by someone younger without parental consent, we will delete it.
Changes
We will update this policy from time to time. We will announce material changes in the app.
